The second graders at Van Vleck Elementary enjoyed a special treat on March 23rd! Davy Crockett, the great great great grandson of the Alamo hero, and his friend Raleigh Conklin, portraying General Sam Houston, presented the Davy Crockett Program. Over 60 children watched with dismay as cannons and rifles fired. History was told as puppets danced and sang to patriotic music. The children even got to participate in a gun salute. Texas artifacts were on display for all to see.
