  • ****************** BOARD MEETING INFORMATION ************************
    The Board of Trustees  hold regular meetings, normally  on the third Monday of each month, at 7:00 PM in the Administration Office Board Room, 142 S. Fourth St., Van Vleck, Texas.  Meeting dates may be changed due to district holidays or conflicts.  Special meetings may be called on an as needed basis.  All board meetings are open to the public. Agendas for all meetings, showing the date, time, place and subjects of each meeting will be posted on the district website, faxed to local newspapers  and posted  at the Administration Office no later than 72 hours prior to  board meeting time.

    Board Meeting Dates for 2011-2012:  July 18, August 15, August 29, September 19, October 17, November 14, December 12, January 23, February 20, March 19, April 16, May 21, June 18, July 16, August 20.

        Open Forum:  Open forum (audience participation) is held at regular board meetings for a 30 minute period.  In accordance with district policy BED(Local) any person(s) wishing to address the board during the period reserved for public comment must sign up on the designated sign up sheet with the superintendent's secretary prior to commencement of public forum.  Each participant is limited to five (5) minutes to make comments to the Board.  Any group of five(5) or more persons must appoint one(1) person to present the group's views to the Board.  This comment period is not intended for the presentation of complaints.  The Board will only consider complaints that remain unresolved after they have been addressed through the proper administrative channels and when they have been placed on the agenda.  For further information on these requirements, please contact the Superintendent's Office at 979-323-5006.

        Closed session:  In certain circumstances, Texas law permits the Board to go into closed session from which the public and others are generally excluded.  Closed session may occur for such things as discussing prospective gifts or donations, real-property acquisition, certain personnal matters including conferences regarding employee complaints, security matters, student discipline, or to consult with attorneys regarding pending litigation.
