VVHS WIT Members Mentor 4th & 5th Grade ATOM Members

Today, the VVHS Workforce Industry Training (WIT) members mentored 4th and 5th graders at E Rudd Intermediate participating in the Achieving Together with Optimistic Mentoring (ATOM) Program. The mission of both organizations is for their members to strive to advance in character development and future leadership relations.

ATOM members participated in hands-on activities with WIT members in building solar powered robots of varying degrees. WIT member, Dalton Wicker, spoke with ATOM about traveling to an Amazon Distributing Center to explain how they use robots in their operation and how they make them more efficient in the work place.  It was a great day of collaboration and the ATOM and WIT members are looking forward to the next mentoring day.

VVISD is very appreciative to the Nuclear Power Institute (NPI) and Texas A&M for their continuous support for these programs for the past ten years.
