Attention Parents/Guardians:

Due to changes with COVID-19 ... ANY MEDICATION that is not a prescription, MUST require a doctor's note in order to administer in the school setting. 

This includes- Tylenol (Acetaminophen), Motrin (Ibuprofen), over the counter cough medicine or allergy medicine, or ANY OTHER non-prescription medication. 

If these medications are sent with the student without appropriate documentation or reason, we will reach out to the parent/guardian. 

The reason being is the list of symptoms related to COVID-19 described by the Texas Education Agency (TEA) as:

  • Feeling feverish or a measured temperature greater than or equal to 100.0 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Loss of taste or smell
  • Cough
  • Difficulty breathing
  • Shortness of breath
  • Fatigue
  • Headache
  • Chills
  • Sore throat
  • Congestion or runny nose
  • Shaking or exaggerated shivering
  • Significant muscle pain or ache
  • Diarrhea
  • Nausea or vomiting.

If your student presents to the clinic with any of the above symptoms, the student will be isolated in the clinic and sent home. Please make sure your emergency contact information is up to date at all times in the case we need to reach you.
