Celebrating Black History Month at VVISD

Van Vleck Independent School District proudly recognizes Black History Month and the important role our black community has played and continues to play in our society. Our goal is to be a district that recognizes, respects, understands and learns from each individual’s unique background, realizing that equality comes from tearing down boundaries and building each other up. The R in our yearlong C.H.A.R.G.E. theme this 4th grading cycle stands for RESPECT YOURSELF AND OTHERS. Black History Month means more than just a month of celebration and education. It is used as catalyst for continued, year round conversations, and improving societal interactions and lives.
