WIT - Van Vleck High School

On Wednesday October 30, 2019, Van Vleck High School WIT (Workforce Industry Training) held its annual induction. Workforce Industry Training is an organization for high school students who have an early interest in expanding their knowledge and understanding of career choices. Sponsored by Texas A&M and NPI (Nuclear Power Institute), WIT is designed for mentoring and encouragement to prepare students for career programs at universities, two-year technical colleges, and one year certificate programs. By participating in WIT, students gain exposure to higher education institutions and industry organizations. Students have access to mentoring by industry professionals, visit local and statewide industry partners, participate in job shadowing, take part in professional development activities, tour universities and colleges, participate in community service, hear and meet guest speakers from all over the world, and have access to scholarship opportunities. Local sponsors for the VVHS WIT organization are: Sherry Martinez and Sarah Porter.
