As stated in this morning's School Safety message, we allegedly had a student make a threat against the school using social media last night around 5:30 pm. The Sheriff Dept. has been notified and are investigating this incident.
Earlier this morning, we had a completely separate incident. Another student allegedly made a threat against one of our staff members. Again the Sheriff’s Department was dispatched and that student was taken into custody. The Sheriff's Department is investigating this separate incident.
Please know that Van Vleck ISD remains very watchful for any threats and takes any and all threats seriously and notifies local law enforcement immediately. If at any time you hear of a threat or suspicious activity that involves our school district, we encourage you to report any concerns directly to your campus principals or the Matagorda County Sheriff's Department.
