French Night at VVHS

In order to expand the student's horizon in first year French, Mrs. Stillwell had her students work on French speaking countries, like those in Africa, in the south Pacific but also in Europe. The students created a brochure and last night each of her students spoke a few sentences about what they learned about their country like one student learned that her country does not have any electricity yet. They showed the countries on a world map, their brochure and also introduced themselves proudly in French. Each student also prepared a dish or beverage from their respective country and brought it last night. We had delicious beignets from Burkina Faso, a beet smoothie from Morocco, hibiscus tea from Senegal, a chicken peanut butter rice dish from Mali and much more. The students enjoyed having their parents and classmates share and experience this wonderful event.
