VVISD Recognizes ALL Fair Participants

Van Vleck ISD Board of Trustees and Superintendent John O'Brien honored all VVISD students who participated in the 2018 Matagorda County Fair & Livestock Show & Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo during this month's school board meeting.  In a statement read to a crowded board room, it was duly noted by the board: "We are proud of ALL OF OUR STUDENTS representing several local 4H groups, Van Vleck Junior FFA, and Van Vleck FFA." Students participated in everything from raising and showing animals, building ag mech projects, baking home ec goods, performing in the talent and public speaking contests, creating home ec crafts, competing in the scholarship contest , squaring off at the academic rodeo, competing in the fair royalty contests, enjoying the muttin bustin contest, participating in monthly 4H and FFA chapter meetings, assisting with set up and clean up for the MCFLA events, and much more. We honor all of our fair participants and families for their dedication and efforts. VVISD also has several students who participate in the larger shows out of town: Houston, Dallas, and San Antonio. Pictured here are some of the Grand & Reserve Champions for the ag mech, animal, and home ec competitions. VVISD would like to thank our students, families, community members, and staff members for their dedication and teamwork. VVISD would like to acknowledge our Agricultural Science advisors, 4H & FFA leaders, the MCFLA Staff, & VVISD Staff for their leadership and support for our students. #vvisdleopardnation
