Staff Wellness Resources

UPCOMING
Walgreens Vaccine Clinic 9/30/25 |
Every fall, we partner with Walgreens in Bay City to bring our employees, employees' spouses, & employees' children the opportunity to receive their flu shots on campus for convenience if they choose to do so. This year, Walgreens will be visiting us on September 30th (just in time for the beginning of flu season on Oct. 1st!). Check your google calendar - the invites are already there. I will send a reminder closer to time along with a sign up form and more information.
TRS-ActiveCare BE WELL CHALLENGE |
For the last several years, VVISD has had some friendly competition amongst staff (once in the fall and once in the spring) by having the opportunity to participate in step challenges. This past year was one to remember! I have been looking for ways to increase participation and make it more accessible. Mrs. Champion and I have been working with our BCBSTX reps on a really neat program called the TRS-ActiveCare BE WELL Challenge. It would be for ALL employees and not just employees with insurance through the district. I am looking forward to bringing you more information and getting started. We will kick off on OCTOBER 1ST!
Impact to Staff Wellness
WORKFORCE RETENTION
Wellness programs and positive working conditions can help improve employee morale, engagement, and resilience, which are crucial for attracting and retaining talented educators and staff.
IMPROVED STUDENT OUTCOMES
When staff members are healthier and less stressed, it can lead to a more positive school climate, which in turn can improve student academic performance and overall well-being.
POSITIVE ROLE MODELING
Healthy school staff can serve as positive role models for students, reinforcing healthy behaviors within the school community
