Van Vleck ISD has officially announced that Mr. Cody Carney is the new Van Vleck ISD Athletic Director and Head Football Coach, following a unanimous decision by the Board of Trustees on Tuesday, January 20, 2026. Selected from a competitive pool of 60 applicants, Mr. Carney emerged as the top choice after a rigorous selection process and a comprehensive interview with a committee of district administrators and veteran coaches. While he has been a valued member of the Van Vleck ISD coaching staff for the past year, this promotion marks a new chapter for both Cody and his family. He has led teams to state championships in 7 on 7 and powerlifting. He is supported by his wife, Lyndi Carney, who serves the district as a teacher/coach and their two children, Cuyler and Cullen. Mrs. Carney was also an instrumental part of the powerlifting state championships run. The district looks forward to the leadership and vision Mr. Carney will bring to the Leopard athletic programs.
