Texas Independent School Districts (ISDs), School Library Month is celebrated throughout the entire month of April. This annual observance, established by the American Association of School Librarians (AASL), highlights the essential role school libraries and librarians play in student learning and academic achievement.

Key Dates for April 2026
While the entire month is dedicated to school libraries, several specific days of recognition occur within April:
School Library Month: April 1–30, 2026.
National School Librarian Day: Friday, April 4, 2026.
National Library Week: April 19–25, 2026.
National Library Workers Day: Tuesday, April 21, 2026 (Often celebrated Tuesday of National Library Week).
