Frequently Asked Questions/Information
Why is VVISD accepting new, out-of-district transfers?
While the district has existing, approved transfer students, funding for Texas public school districts is based on the Average Daily Attendance of each enrolled student. Due to a slowdown in student enrollment, the district has “extra seats” in certain grade levels across the district. Strategically filling those seats with additional out-of-district transfer students increases funding for the district without increasing operating costs.
Who is eligible to apply for a new out-of-district transfer?
Students who reside in the State of Texas but live outside the boundaries of Van Vleck ISD may apply. However, acceptance is subject to strict criteria regarding space and staffing considerations as well as the student’s attendance, discipline, and academic history.
Which grade levels are open for new transfers?
Van Vleck ISD will be accepting new out-of-district transfers for non-resident students in grades K-12 grades. VVISD is not accepting transfer applications for PK.
Is enrollment guaranteed?
No, placement is determined by space and staffing availability at the specific grade level.
